Hi, I’m Kristina!
I’m a New York City-based writer/editor, beauty expert, and multimedia content creator. I grew up in Queens, New York and am a proud Filipino American daughter of immigrants. As someone who never saw herself represented in mainstream media, I made it my mission to help shift beauty standards to be more inclusive of women of color. This passion led me to study journalism at NYU and pursue a career as a beauty editor.
Now, I am an independent consultant, writer, and content director offering a full suite of creative services. I do everything from working with brands on product launch strategy, to copywriting, to influencer campaigns. As someone with a journalism background at the forefront of the beauty and wellness industries, I’ve sharpened my eye for stellar storytelling on all platforms.
Prior to starting my own company, I was an editor at publications like ELLE, POPSUGAR, InStyle, and most recently was Beauty Director at Women’s Health. Highlights of my 11+ years in print and digital media include appearing on the TODAY Show, reporting the Webby Award-nominated documentary Beat: How Drag Queens Shaped the Beauty Industry, hosting ELLE’s YouTube series Beauty Haul featuring guests such as Jessica Alba and Barbara Palvin, and co-founding Donate Beauty in 2020, which rallied the beauty industry to provide nearly half a million personal care products to frontline workers.
In my free time, you can usually find me in red lipstick, karaoke-ing my heart out to Celine Dion, hunting for the best dessert in NYC, or running long distances.
